Right Hand
Good Idea: Some teachers confiscate every student’s bow on the first day students bring their instruments to school. By holding the bows hostage, teachers have leverage for expecting students to learn a correct bow hold; it also keeps students from experimenting with the bow at home and developing bad habits. “I will give your bow back once you have mastered the bow hold on the pencil/straw…..Hmmm, I wonder which student will be the first to receive their bow.” Have name tags ready for students to fill out and tie to bow; then store them in a save place until students are ready to hold the bow.
